[Birmingham, AL, February 19] OrthoExpress, a free standing and independent Orthopedic Urgent Care, has announced it’s opening the first clinic of its kind in the Birmingham area on March 1st.  The clinic will be located in Chelsea, Alabama in the former Lemak Health building convenient to the Highway 280 corridor. Lemak Health consolidated its operations to its new Cahaba River Road clinic behind Grandview Hospital in November 2017.

OrthoExpress, 104 Chelsea Pointe Chelsea, AL, offers urgent care specifically for orthopedic injuries, such as fractures, dislocations and sprains. The clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 10AM to 8PM and 1PM to 6PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Bryan Wimbish, the clinic’s care provider, stated, “We’re excited to be opening our first clinic right here in Alabama. It’s too difficult for patients to get afternoon and evening appointments for their orthopedic injuries, and too expensive to seek treatment in the Emergency Room. We will be here to provide convenient access to our patients, and help expedite their care to another specialist or service when additional treatment is required.”

Unlike other specialty urgent cares around the market, OrthoExpress focuses on being a convenience to the patient by being a gateway to care, rather than being an extension of a physician practice. According to Wimbish, “More times than not, my patients are looking for diagnoses of their injury and trying to decide if it needs immediate or more complex treatment like surgery or advanced imaging.” Wimbish also went on to say that he has been very welcomed by the community, and looks forward to growing partnerships with the surrounding orthopedic providers in the market through the success of OrthoExpress as a service to their patients.

OrthoExpress has already hired four employees for its first location, and will look to add additional support staff later this year as the business matures. While located on Highway 280 in the heart of Shelby County, OrthoExpress aims to serve the greater Shelby County and surrounding communities including: Birmingham, Chelsea, Childersburg, Columbiana, Leeds, Pell City, Sylacauga, and even Coosa and St. Clair County residents with their urgent orthopedic needs.

The company is already planning expansion to five other markets in central Alabama. For more information about our grand opening, we encourage you to follow OrthoExpress Urgent Care on Facebook. More information about our services and providers will soon be available on our website www.orthoexpress.com. OrthoExpress will be located at 104 Chelsea Pointe Drive in Chelsea, AL 35043.
